Civ 5 can be played with only a mouse if you really prefer. (if this post is serious)

I play on the couch, and dont need the keyboard.

Not one person thought of a scenario similar to the one in my posts?

Damn. I'm sorry OP, people are more dense than I imagined you anticipated. :p

And here I am, a youngin', who teethed on Windows 95. :p

Almost all PC games can be played without a game controller. A few like the Batman series might be harder with KB + mouse.

If you need more help with this, try choosing some games you might like, then asking us what the KB + mouse control is like.

Nah, worked fine for me :)

I'd like to be of more help, as plenty likely exist that are not distributed on the Steam platform (if you are anti-DRM, Steam won't be of value to you).

gog.com is usually DRM-free, I think. I'm not sure what their indie market is like, I'm sure it is quite sufficient. And there should be plenty available direct from developers, but I don't even know where to begin. I don't really pay much attention to that game market these days. Once in a while one catches my eye, but I rarely make many indie or 2D purchases.

Not usually, gog.com is DRM free.

Well there is the Diablo series, Runescape and Age of Empires if you are a fan of those, otherwise you might have to adapt and be willing to open up about how you play games.

Sure there are. Most keyboard games work with mouse and keyboard.

Any shooter.
Any RTS/MOBA.
Any point-and-click adventure.
Any RPG.

OP is serious?

Every shooter, almost every RPG, every MMO, every RTS, every TBS, every 4X . . . outside of racing games, flight sims, and fighting games, every game is far superior with a KB+M.

Third person action is often much better with a controller.

But yes, a lot of people in this thread are missing the fact that the OP is totally fine with using a keyboard in conjunction with a mouse. He just doesn't want to use a gamepad.

That's because the wording in the OP and title are confusing since the answer to mouse plus KB is "yes, they all are except maybe one or two". That seemed so obvious that we wanted to make sure that was the intended question.

Before the follow-up responses, I wondered if the OP really could only use a mouse by itself, for example because of accessibility issues. There are people with degenerative diseases or who've been in accidents who can only use a pointer.

It seems all mouse games have disappeared for PC. I just could never get use to the hand held devices.
This is a silly statement, I have a solid state drive so I limit the amount of games I can have loaded at a time, right now I have 21 games loaded and 17 of them are best played with KB+Mouse.

... you, apparently like everyone else, have forgotten to read the thread.

I know, the OP wasn't clear in the first post. That said, his intent has been made readily clear in follow up posts, specifically in conversation with me.

He wants a game where the keyboard is used for literally no more than WASD/directional key purposes (perhaps he even uses the numpad directional keys).

Most modern games also include various toggles and items and interface utility keys scattered all over the keyboard.

"Do you want a game that only has, what, four or five actual actionable non-movement events? So that you only use WASD or arrow keys and everything else is literally done by a few mouse buttons?"

This is what I have in mind.

This is practically how I play most (if not all my games)........I prefer to transpose WASD to the arrow keys (a bit clumsy with WASD :p). Games that support X-Box controllers are of course the prefered way.

I think it's just a matter of getting used to using the available equipment at hand (like riding a bicycle) that will change your view on using them, and then end up using it well. ;)
