Saint's Row 3 is a fun and not super difficult FPS with stats and story, but it is much, much shorter so you should wait for the Summer Steam sale and get it cheap.

The Season Pass DLC is worth it (on sale), you can skip the others.

Great game but not in the same league really. Leveling is not really the point in SR3 and its a 3rd person game.

Borderlands has a unique charm to it as it pretends to be a sandbox game with lots of loot and elements of Role playing.

Fallout 3 might appeal to you a bit more except the combat was very meh. A few of the new MMOs have FPS+RPG+Sandbox elements if thats your thing.

Which ones have this?

FPS...level up...some story...?

Did you have the GOTY version of Borderlands, or just the vanilla game? The DLC, especially General Knoxx, is really really good. Moxxi's Underdome is just so-so. The zombie one is fun too, and I've heard mixed feelings about Claptrap's Revolution.

Have you check out F2P Firefall? I am playing the beta and it reminds me a lot of borderlands, but it it is more of a MMO FPS(think borderlands meet Tribes + TF2)

I guess im interested as well, but i cant see myself stopping playing borderlands until 2 comes out. Ive been trying to find a game i really like for a LONG time, and i am estatic that someone recommend this game to me.

There are a few things that annoy me, but for the most part i LOVE this game. Not sure why there arent more games like it.

Siren and hunter classes are both good. The soldier's turret is a bit less useful for solo play, and Brick is the least fun to play for me by a wide margin.

Well I am playing Brick this go around, I think he will be more of a challenge to play as a class...

Brick can be challenging, but he's also pretty awesome too. I think Roland/Soldier is the most difficult. If you can get your hands on an Ogre machine gun (I forget the exact name of the type of weapon) with Brick, you will melt face. I think he does the most DPS actually, with Master Blaster + Revenge, and an Ogre. I've heard he has a lot of trouble with Crawmerax though, but I suppose everybody does, to some extent, other than The Siren/Lilith.
