My wife keeps reminding me that we need to have wills drawn up in case something should happen to us. I imagine it's time to do it, so I was looking for someplace online that has a do-it-yourself will creator. Anyone done this already ?

Generally, this would be a bad idea. Even though most jurisdictions have relaxed formalities to some extent, there are still many that you have to follow.

An attested will still needs you to sign it in front of witnesses or acknowledge the signature and they sign.
A holographic will still generally needs to be entirely in your own handwriting. Due to the availability of forms and such, a lot of jurisdictions have relaxed some of these requirements, but most want the material language to be in your handwriting.

I would suggest that if you use a fill in the blank type deal, you use that as a draft and rewrite it entirely in your own handwriting and sign it at the bottom. Then pay an attorney to review it against what you intend to have happen when you die to make sure the language reflects that. It will cost less than having him or her write it, but if you can afford it, it isn't a bad idea.

I'm studying for the bar right now, just got through a lot of this material 🙂 This isn't legal advice, I'm not a lawyer, and I could very well be wrong. Requirements will vary by state, but your state's code should be available online and will at least tell you the required formalities.
