I think if you work for Canada Post you get free internet access. Maybe you could apply...

sure we can sign up for free access, we just gotta use long distance dial-up access numbers from the US

Actually, Excite has free internet access in Canada with local POPs. My girlfriend's using it and, although I wouldn't recommend it for heavy downloading, it's acceptable for surfing. But my view may be biased...I've been on cable for 3 years now so I forget what it's like to use 33.6k dialup (what she's using).

Uhh...sorry. Never mind...they had dial-up access from Canada until like yesterday and now their webpage says they don't....no wonder my girlfriend cannot connect today!

The free ISP industry is in chaos now with the collapse of 1stUp and over a hundred smaller players. Canadians have it the worst, with few options to choose from: Funcow is slow, Juno who swallowed Freeweb is bogged down by excessive advertising.

I'm looking for one to recommend to my customers as well. NetZero seems to have dialup ports here, but it feels very slow.

Of course I'm on ADSL so everything else seems like a 2400 baud

See what I mean? Most of the problem is the collaspe of 1stUp, which served as the backbone for most of the free ISP's offered by the popular web search engines.

Would anyone care to tell me where I can download a copy of the 3web.com installation files for my home computer? They've stopped offering it for download on the website but I should still be able to register if I had it. Unfortunately I lose cable access within the next ten days or so.
