Hehe. The episode after that took place in a sci fi convention, and there was a few Firefly references in it as well.

I was actually late to the Firefly world. I saw Serenity in the theater, and even after that had no idea it was from a TV show, it was 2-3 years later before I actually watched Firefly. Was sad it got cancelled so early.

Sadder was the way Fox treated the show. Truely puzzling. I mean why fund a project then fuck it over?

Can you imagine if in a Buffy-Firefly crossover, 500 years in the future, the Slayer essence were to get transfered into River Tam on top of her natural abilities. Boy, would she ever kick vampire/demon ass! The first Superslayan!😎

Is it really that good? I hear about it all the time.

I fear it's overhyped and only liked by 'nerds' who like Star Wars/Trek stuff.

From a guy who likes Breaking Bad & Game of Thrones, is it on par in quality and entertainment value?

I don't like Star Wars or Star Trek, but I did enjoy Firefly.

As with anything, it's personal preference...I just recently watched it again and still enjoy it. I think most of it is simply it is a niche that just isn't filled very often. It's really not like many of the other space shows that have been out over the years. It's exactly what it tries to be, a western in space.

I do enjoy Cowboy Bebop (bounty hunters in space) and Starcraft lore (admittedly inspired by Firefly).

Is it good? I get a feeling it's cheesy and campy.

I would say Firefly is above average compared to typical TV dramas; there are good episodes and so-so ones. And Morena Baccarin plays a whore--What more do you need?

The movie, Serenity, was good too.

You will like it. There are points where it is a bit cheesy, but they're appropriately placed and of a proper use (diffusing tension, etc).

Now fire up the Netflix!

"I'll be in my bunk", funniest goddamn line ever uttered on TV! 'nuff said.

I got the same feeling when I saw the promos when it was on the air, which is why I didnt watch it then. Its a pretty good show.

Sir Warwick Harrow: You have to finish it, lad. You have to finish it. For a man to lay beaten... and yet breathing? It makes him a coward.
Inara Serra: It's humiliation.
Mal: Sure. It would be humiliating. Having to lie there while the better man refuses to spill your blood. Mercy is the mark of a great man.
[stabs Atherton with the sword]
Mal: Guess I'm just a good man.
[stabs him again]
Mal: Well, I'm all right.

Zoe: "No one's gonna force you to go, Jayne. As has been stated -- this job's strictly speculative."

Jayne: "Good. 'Cause I don't know these folks, don't much care to."

Mal: "They're whores."

Jayne: "I'm in."

god I wish fox wouldn't have screwed over this show.

hehe...I never like Adam Baldwin until Firefly. He always played aholes in every movie or tv series he has every been in. Now I think he's great. Still pretty much doing ahole roles, but now it works. I guess the same goes for Nathan Fillion. I remember when they tried to work him in on Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place, and I was like..."Who the f is this guy? This aint Two Guys, a Girl, a Pizza Place, and some douche!".

I watched a lot of the marathon yesterday...I did not get much done yesterday. I like the show but am not really fanatical about it...watched the series once on DVD, always meant to watch again. It was pretty damn foreign to me yesterday; major plot turns were surprises again.

Adam Baldwin and Nathan Fillion fucking made the show. Some of the dialog, like the examples posted, plus their delivery, made for some freakin' great moments.

Frankly Inara's character is a throwaway. All the others have a place, and the 'balance' of the cast would be affected without them. Inara? Nah. If anything, Mal could've had some better bits written in without her. Never got why anyone liked the character that was literally written in as 'the pompous whore.' She ain't that fuckin' pretty. I'd rather do Kaylee.

They had their chance at redemption with Terminator... then fucked that right back over.
