Any experiences with SCSI SCA -> 68 pin adapter?

I have a 9GB SCSI SCA drive (single connector that handles power and data), and need to pop it into my GW 6400 with a standard SCSI 3 connector. Looking around I saw a few site that advertised a few converters that would let me do this, question is has anyone had any experiences with this? Is there a performance hit? Does it kill your harddrive's life?

Most people have reported good results using those but make sure you get the correct adapter - if your drive is Ultra2 or Ultra160, make sure you get an LVD compatable adapter.
