instead of returning my Asus board to zipzoomfly and eat the 15% restocking fee, can i return it to American express to refund for the full price (minus return shipping i suppose)? I've never used their 'return guarantee' before and don't know what is required. can anybody shed some light?

edit: the board was purchased with the AMEX Blue Cash card.

I'm paraphrasing here, but AMEX has the return guarantee for "merchants that WON'T accept a return" - not "merchants that will take a return but charge a restocking fee".

So, unless you're prepared to lie to AMEX, I'd say they won't accept it -but you can always be honest with them and see what they say.

I wouldn't screw over AMEX just to avoid the restocking fee...but that's me.

Either way, good luck and do whatever you can live with. :)

Right, but you know of the restocking fee and COULD return it now and pay the 15%...but you're trying to rationalize NOT returning it and having AMEX foot the bill by allowing the 30 days to pass.

As I said previously, do what you can live with.
