My wife ate peanuts during pregnancy and my daughter still has a peanut allergy.

And used to live on the same street as Charles Baker who would buy Mobil 1 oil at Walmart and change it in his garage every 4 months whether it needed it or not.

This "scumbaggy" maker of Epipen makes a device that saves lives. If most people thought it was too much money, someone else would step up and produce a lower priced device that didn't infringe on patents and make a killing. There are options out there, but people don't want to hear that. They just want to bitch and get on the bandwagon. If I had to rely on these, I wouldn't be happy either, but that's why I have good insurance and there are alternatives as well. I'm not happy with the prices of many items, but I am grateful that I have access to said items due to where I live in this world.

so price gouging is fine for you? Epipen price jumped ONLY in the US because they were able to do so. The patent is on the injection mechanism, not on the drug.

Someone already does this - the maker of epipens, except for sale in countries other than US.

I didn't mean the person I replied to didn't mention them, I removed it since the first part of my reply was in response to the tie in to a senator. Who freaking cares who she is related to unless that senator directly had an impact on something related to the pen (which wasn't included in his post.)
 
In every language in every sense, when a person does not pay out of pocket, this scenario is considered free.

now if you want to speak about ripple effect or the chaos theory, where each action tangentially impacts that present and future systems and events... that's not considered cost.

That's called the butterfly effect and it's a fucking movie you dumbasses.
 
Sorry, but increasing the price to an insane amount of money for a desperately needed med that saves countless lives of men, women, and children is SCUMBUGGY. Those precious minutes provided by the injection of epinephine are the difference between life and death. .
 
Still buying epipens. I've already met my deductible. Just paying coinsurance now. Got three 2-packs from Cigna Home Delivery for $150 out of pocket.

I hate how quickly they expire (12 months on average). I keep all of the expired ones that are still in good shape.

I really miss the auvi-q. Much more convenient size and shape.

I saw an article where he compared it to the cost of an iPhone.
Here's his flaws
1) while iPhones have a big margin its nowhere near the pen
2) iPhones have more than one use
3) iPhones aren't critical to keep you alive

He is an utter ass clown

Except for the people who pay for their insurance (insurance cost go up and is passed along) , or who work for an employer who pays for their insurance (it is part of the pay package so smaller paycheck), or gov. employees whose insurance is paid for by the taxpayer, or Medicare/Medicaid whose cost is paid for by the taxpayer.

So only the people who work and the people who don't will be impacted.

Was the price increase since 2007 due to:
1. Low inflation ?
2. Decreased cost due to reduced labor cost for offshore manf. ?
3. Reduced production cost due to automation ?
4. Being able to get your fathers buddy to introduce a bill for public schools to keep a supply on hand ? Epi-Pen bill. Can someone say corporate EBT ?
5. The CEO's pay rising from 2.5 million to 18 million in < 10 years ?
