Any entymologist or professional/amateur bug killer?

I've got the small persistent miniature beetles that will not go away. I even fogged the house big time this weekend with a spray that is supposed to work for 4 weeks...It worked for about 14 hours and it was probably twice as many as I should have used.

Originally I thought it was a Southern pine beetle, but I saw some pictures on the net that led me to believe that it was not....I was to the point of killing about 10 a day before I bombed the place and I just killed 4 this morning(bombed the place on Saturday). I see them only in the kitchen area, bathroom and occasionally on the wall in the dining room(next to the kitchen). They are black and probably between 1/16 and 1/8 of an inch long. They have a proboscis for a snout and I'm guessing they can fly as I live in a third floor apartment. Also, I live in North Carolina of that matters. I'm thinking maybe they are coming from the drains because I haven't seen any around the window seals nor any place that isn't within 10 feet of a drain. I even sprayed some ant and roach killer down the drain when I fogged and yet they are back...

So any ideas on what they are, where they are coming from and how to get rid of them? I've tried the foggers, manually crunching them under my thumb, and ant and roach spray

A couple of things...

Since you're living in an apartment, you should contact the property management group immediately. They are supposed to have licensed pest control operators contracted to deal with things like this.

If you decide to use readily available consumer agents for pest control, please note that it's a violation of federal law to use the product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling! This makes a difference if you live within a shared edifice with other people! Of course, most "over the counter" pesticides are agents with low toxicity (pyrethrins, and dilute organophosphates) so gross abuse rarely if ever leads to lasting damage.

Cheers!
