:p

sorry, saw the "HEE-UHH!" spelling one time on CS and I liked it. :wine::)

anyways, do we have any techno/electronica fans in ATOT? any subgenre.

oh, and now for the real reason for this thread:

suggest (erm... list ;)) your favorite techno groups and such. or, along those lines, house/lounge music, too.

several that I like (not that I really get around that much)

- a bunch of no-name MIDI songs from TechnoMIDI
- Joe Satriani
- Ayumi Hamasaki (can't say much about the singing, as I don't understand it, but the music is good :))
- Random indie songs I got. like this techno song made with the CS1.5 weapon fire noises :D

I like old stuff:

Shamen,
Front 242,
Machines of loving Grace,
Orbital,
808 State

I used to be extremely hardcore into electronic.
Mostly focusing on house, techhouse, techno, deephouse, discohouse.

Never was into trance. Because its the bottom of the barrel as far as electronic goes.

Yea that's basically what it comes down to. Trance is basically for the electronic music uninformed, or thoes on drugs. It really is entry level into a much more complex genre.

I used to play out a lot. Weeklies, monthlies, parties, whatever. Though, my interest has dropped off to almost nothing. I'm on the verge of selling off all my records and mabey my equipment. It's a tough decision.

I met him at one of the cream festival partys over here in the UK and at other gigs ive been to of his.

Also my friend Wayne (known as Alex Troy here), hes not big, but is actually good friends with Alex.

Ive met John 00 Fleming twice too :)

I figured someone had to question the fact im in the UK, and his residency in New York :p

All the best DJs are from the UK / Europe ;)

I DJ myself :)

There IS some really great trance out there, and it's unfair to call it all "the bottom of the barrel" just because of all the cheese trance.

I agree.. there's a lot of bad trance (that sounds like someone used stock beats from a keyboard purchased at K-Mart), but there's also some outstanding examples within the genre. Mp3.com used to have some good stuff online (amid all the cruft). Personally, I tend to like melodic trance and some trip hop.
