any electronic music fans out there?

vocal trance from di.fm rules, even though it's selection is not nearly as diverse as the trance selection...

I've djed professionally for about 5 years.
Recently I havn't been as much into it. Money and time constraints make it hard.

The scene has also gone to sh!t with all the wanker noobs out there. As well as the huge influx of horrible cookie cutter tracks pressed by stock sample using "producers"

I spin mostly deep funky house and funkier techhouse. Some downbeat here and there, and something I like to call h-hop.

Realistically, music that is based on a 4/4 beat structure doesn't have much range. After years of listening to it, it all becomes the same.

I agree the scene has predominantly gone to the noobs. The so called megaclubs in NYC are stuffed with em and when Tiesto is in town its even worse. Thank god for the smaller parties and new talent coming out of the wood work... the lounges and the lofts is where it at now.

bleeb - why would you link that PvD track? His new album sounds old... its nothing special... in fact... i think its crap... The only good thing that came from it is the PvD Mix of Times of our Lives... and that will get old real soon. PvD needs to get some new equipment cause his shti sounds the same....

(ill still be there to see him on Nov. 14 though)

i prefer melody and emotion in my music. other than portishead, bjork, the album leaf, and a few others, i can't think of any electronic music that doesn't bore me to tears.

/raises hand

Most of the stuff I listen to is electronic, nowadays. I wander between various styles depending on my mood (jungle, ambient, trip-hop, trance, industrial, etc.)
