I was thinking about getting an eeePC 900. Any comments about it?

If you want an all around PC, just get a cheap traditional notebook, netbooks aren't for everyone. I find myself talking people out of buying them so they're not disappointed, lots of folks at work love mine initially, but then when they realize there's no CD drive etc... they decide it's not for them. I had a 701 I really didn't like, the 901 is tolerable, but I will have spent a bit of $ making it something that fits my needs.

The SSD is pokey. The keyboard is a bit cramped, and doesn't always register presses. The battery life isn't that good. I love the machine though. I have Ubuntu-eee installed, and it's working great. The size is perfect. On the 700 series you didn't get enough screen width, and you had to sidescroll a lot on web pages. I'd buy it again given the chance. If you're interested check ebay using live search. Now's the time to buy with 30% off ;^)
