Any easy way to see what PSN userids are available

I spent at least 40+ minutes trying to sign up for playstation network with a PS3. Keeps saying "userid invalid". I've tried all kinds of combinations including punctuation and no go.

xbox live at least would give you suggestions of what was available. I've tried googling to find a website but no go and I don't feel like breaking another controller trying to sign on.

I don't think there is. I just added the plant number where I used to work to my userID. I've also used my area code. Maybe address number if it's 3 or 4 digits?

I'm sorry, but you're just not creative enough. I had no problem getting the psn name I want, sure it's 9 letters (no numbers, I hate numbers), but it's one of the alternative names I use, and it actually means something.

Suggestion, combine 2 words you like.

I was able to create 'destrekor' with no trouble. Then again, got the PS3 and PSN ID right around launch.

But, I've also been able to create destrekor everywhere. The beauty of finding a very unique/different name.
