Any news on a DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter? I'd like my 290X to be able to run 4k @ 60hz on my 4K TV. Thanks.

Okay, thanks. I check every other week or so and haven't seen anything. I thought they were coming 'any day now' just a few months back. I'll guess I'll keep waiting.

something like this?

51r9YksXw5L._SY355_.jpg

http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Displayport-HDMI-Adapter-Supports/dp/B001NIEHIO - $14.98

Supports HDMI 2.0 Technology, which increases bandwidth from 10.2 Gbps to 18 Gbps and is 4k and Ultra HD compatible. Increases from 8 Audio Channels to 32 Audio Channels for expanded audio.
60 fps video playback at 4k resolution.
Dynamic synchronization of video and audio streams.

Rant
- doesn't support 4K 60Hz as tested, just 30Hz.

Thanks everyone. The Belkin one and some others listed here might say they do it, but the reviews are quite negative as people could not get it above 30hz.

That Club 3d one is very interesting and looks like exactly what I need! I saw them tease it on Twitter a few months ago. A product page is the right step, but too bad there is still no way to buy it.

If it did, there would be little need for 18Gbps. Most likely it's to ensure compatibility with older sets that can't do 4:4:4, hence the bit about conversion capability.

No. HDMI 1.4 only supports 4:2:0. Which is why you need the DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter.

Allright.I checked Article and it was 4K 60fps with 8 bit 4:2:0 Ycbcr.

according to HDMI Faq :
http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_2_0/hdmi_2_0_faq.aspx

HDMI 1.4 supports 4K@30 , 8bit RGB 4:4:4(Note : BOLD texts are new with HDMI 2.0)

I just noticed that There is No 4K@60 , 8 bit RGB 4:4:4 just only 4K@50.On other hand :
IF 4K@50 ==> 8 bit RGB 4:4:4
IF 4K@60 ==> 8 bit RGB 4:2:0

also I checked this Wiki : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

Some good news for you guys. I ended up buying an NV card with HDMI 2.0. Since I did that, I expect these adapters to start shipping any day now.

Enjoy :)

No. Read the sentence in full

Internal YCbCr 4:4:4 /4:2:2 to YCbCr 4:2:0 conversion capability

I re-re-re-read it again just for you and my concern remains unchanged. Nowhere in the features does it specifically state that it will pass a 4K60 4:4:4 signal all the way through. I want to believe that it will, but it doesn't say that. Buyer beware, that is all.

When I saw the username as the latest post in this thread I was wondering if we'd get good news. That is definitely good news. I know its a long shot, but do you know the MSRP of the adapter?

Did all cable makers have to wait for the PS176 converter, is that why it took so long?

While it is too late for me as I already moved to a native HDMI 2.0 card, this is definitely great news. Glad these are coming out. R290 and Fury owners connected to a 4K TV will love it.
