Any downtown SD food delivery places take PayPal?

I left my wallet at home and only have an expired student ID but... I wants to order me some foods.

I'm stuck here at work (downtown San Diego) on a 12 hour shift and I didn't even have breakfast this morning. Most places with online ordering still want me to present my credit card upon delivery, so I can't just use the info to order. I wish we had RFID payment cards built into our phones like more of Japan, but I kinda doubt a delivery guy would be equipped to accept that either. *shrug*

For the future, get a PayPal debit card.

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess that wouldn't help if they still require physical card for delivery. Most places around here don't, they just ask for signature on receipt.

I miss PayPal's secure card generator.

You knew you were going into a 12 hour shift and you didn't pack lunch? /life fail

Besides that, there should always be contingency food. Beef jerky, canned vegetables, easy microwave dinners... I always have something to eat nearby in case something happens.

Papa Johns. Or basically any place that takes credit card.

I've ordered papa John's online and they've NEVER asked me for my physical card.

I've also ordered from various local chineese places and all they've asked is for me to sign the receipt.

Order using the info, and if they ask for the card, explain that you don't have the physical card with you. Offer to show them ID instead?

I doubt a delivery guy wants to make anything complicated out of it. They just want a tip and to move on to the next delivery.

EDIT: Or call ahead, explain the situation, and see if they're ok with it. I'm willing to bet you can find a place that understands.

Barring all of that, ask a coworker to spot you a 20?

Best option.

no friends/family?

seesh, someone in SD area, send this poor (and hungry) nerd some food!

hmm actually,he can pay you with paypal !

PayPal? Really? Why can't you just user your CC and order from campusfood or something?

Wouldn't they demand to see the card upon delivery like nearly everyone else?

Got one... it's in my wallet. 🙁

Yup, but that's mostly because they didn't tell me that I was also going to be working the shift 8 hours before it and I lost all time to prepare (had to wash clothes).

I took the Ramen noodles that I stashed here home last time because there weren't any utensils to prepare/eat it with. I did find someone else's chips, which I will replace when I return in the morning. 🙂

Some of the Chinese places I've used still make imprints of the card. They don't bother to carry the slider machine though... they just rub it into the carbon paper/receipt using a pen on a flat surface. A Papa Johns driver once made my coworker go back inside to retrieve his card.

Unfortunately, I work alone on weekends and can't borrow. I thought about just putting a driver on the spot because I'm sure it would work, and if I were really hungry, I probably would. But I'm not really hungry and I was just more curious than anything (about PayPal).

I've never been asked to provide my card or ID after ordering.

I have. The only times I haven't have been when I was already displaying it before they asked. Pizza Hut even makes their people tell you on the phone that you will need to show it to the driver.

Where in downtown SD do you work? I live in Little Italy.

That's exactly where I work (Acqua Vista in Little Italy) but I didn't get around to posting that until I was almost done with the shift anyway. I was really just curious from when I started thinking about options earlier and let my mind wander. I mean, I was able to buy stuff at a flea market once with PayPal, so I figured that I might be surprised. 😀
