Any dodge charger come in diesel flavor ?

is there another car like the dodge charger? It seems they have a unique car that no other car can really compete with the features. RWD, 4 door, semi-decent performance

Not much in the arena unless you want something German and to pay more. you can go used, but that's still used. And the Charger is a big fleet car here in the states so it will be a lot cheaper to maintain over its lifespan. You can get a loaded SRT Charger and get the price up there a bit over the base SE/SXT with v6. The R/T is a decent compromise. Great car. Sensible family cruiser with some balls and enjoyable to drive.

Yeah, but the 8-speed is coming for it and it's not that bad of a 5 speed considering. I love my 8speed v6 but I can't say there aren't times I wish I got to hear the hemi make noise on occasion.
 
The US doesn't like diesels, so don't expect many diesel versions of US cars. Truthfully, with variable displacement on larger engines now and diesel costing more than gasoline, there aren't too many reasons to want a diesel for a car anymore.

I was expecting the 8 speed to improve acceleration and mileage with the hemi in the Grand Cherokee, but it really didn't. Probably because the newer ones are heavier than mine.

It probably is due to the weight. It could also be programmed for economy more than performance. I know with mine, the adaptive nature of it means I have to drive kinda hard and it will suddenly wake up and be super aggressive and launch faster. But if I'm cruising and conserving gas, it's a lot more sluggish. Between that and the added weight, i'm not surprised. The 8-speed going into the SRT Charger, Challenger and rumored 'Cuda will be interesting.

I'm surprised Dodge hasn't tried a 2.0L turbo in the Charger. The 8-speed would go very well with it.

Judging by cars like the BMW 528i, the Charger would be as quick or a little quicker than with the 3.6L V6, and get better economy.

Plus you would have some bottom end torque that the V6 lacks.

Not a whole lot of difference in the overall torque, 390 vs 420.

The diesel fuel and engine just cost too much here, imo.

There's also more maintenance costs with the diesel engine.

It's probably a wash overall against the hemi and a loss overall against the V6, economically.
 
So what are the chances of this dodge charger running after adding diesel fuel to it ?

This is the only Charger I think about when I hear "Charger". Not the suped up Dodge Intrepid they're making today 😀
