Then let me take note that your opinion is crap.

Sorry guys, but disturbed may be good for a song or two, not because they are good songs, but they are songs to get your blood flowing to... the kind of thing you'd listen to before/at a sporting event...

Other than that, they suck.

Whoever said Liberate was a good song has to be retarded. It's 90% the same few lines... which are the worst song writing I've heard in a long time.. and topped off with an annoying too-frequently repeated beat. That is perhaps one of their worst songs.

I see how it works. If someone disagrees with you than their opinion is crap. Interesting philosophy, it'll get you far in life.

No, because you failed to provide any reason why Disturbed is one of the best bands in the past decade, rivaling such bands as the Foo Fighters, Weezer and Rage Against the Machine, who, even if your personal tastes don't include them, you would be an MORON to say they weren't any good.

Disturbed is a band that has BARELY been making it onto the charts, and quite frankly I'm surprised they released a second album. I own it, I've listened to it at least a dozen times, and I can say that it really is NOT a good album, although it is better than their first.

Now tell me how Disturbed is somehow one of the best bands of the decade, after only 2 nationally released albums and a very, very small fanbase, topped off by songs that people really won't listen to 10 years from now.

As you mature, you'll realize that things such as music are very subjective. And just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion, doesn't mean they are a "moron".

They're okay. I saw them live last year, and wasn't really too impressed. I'm really not into the whole "getting yelled at" music genre.

But you still have yet to say why, in comparision to every other band in the past ten years, Disturbed is somehow at the top.

What don't you like about them? I like them because they both sound "different" (although not only because of this), although RATM can get a little preachy sometimes.

You missed my point entirely.

Music is subjective. One person can have the opinion that Kiss is the greatest rock band of all time, and another person can have the opinion that Rush is the greatest rock band of all time.

Each person is entitled to their opinion, and neither is wrong nor a "moron".

Yes, but WHY?????????????????????

"
rolleye.gif
" right back at you for trying to dodge a question that should be so simple if you like them so much.

If someone said that driving my car over a bridge was a good idea, then I asked "why" and they said "because I like it", is that a good reason for you to just go ahead and agree, then go do it yourself?

If you can't even give a valid reason why your opinion is valid, then what reason do I have to believe your opinion is worth listening to?

Are you so dense that you can't comprehend that there may be people in the world that like something you don't? I like their music, there is no REASON to give, it's an emotional response. If you like pizza and I don't, can you possibly give me a reason why you like pizza?! Of course not, you just LIKE it.

Let's see... I pretty much like all of Disturbed's songs -- especially Rise.

But RAtM does suck, and so do their songs..

Edit -- and Liberate is a very good song. :)

I like pizza because it's easy to eat, not only that but it is easily reheatable to eat another day. Furthermore, it's a very versatile food, you can add any toppings you want to satisfy your particular mood or tastes, and most anything tastes good on pizza.

My work here is done. Maybe some other people here with some sense will decide to argue with you about this, but my patience has worn thin.

As soon as you can explain why you like the taste of pizza and/or any specific toppings, then I will explain to you why I like Disturbed's music.

I like the taste of pizza because it reminds of when I was a child and my mom would make homemade pizza for me and my brother during lunch in the summer. I like bacon on my pizza because bacon is soft and chewy, and I like the way the bacon is always moist, even after being in the pizza oven for a short amount of time.

See, this is different though.

You can't really explain the specific taste of foods... however, you can explain a band. You can say you like them because the guitar is fast-paced and heavy, you can say you enjoy the higher pitches of the drums against the guitar, you can say you really enjoy dave dramian's voice, you can say a multitude of things.

I can ask the same question on why thePrescense doesn't like the bands I mentioned and he can give similar answers. I don't like Zac DeLaRoca's lyrics because music should be about fun and not about always trying to preach. Or in reference to one the recent Nickleback threads, you could say "I don't like Nickleback because all of their songs sound similar. Once you've heard one song, you've heard them all, it seems." Those are all reasons. "Because I do" is not a reason. Simply saying that a band is good or that a band sucks is far from validating your opinion. Granted, it's not required that your opinion be validated to anyone, but if I say your opinion sucks then I would think it would be worth at least backing up with some information that is somewhat factual.

All I'm asking for it why you think that out of the thousands of bands that have surfaced in the past decade, you think Disturbed is one of the best, whether it be from sales figures, concert sales, why you like them, whatever.

Why are you hammering on this so much... So that you can argue whatever points anyone brings up?

Music is subjective, there is no right and wrong. Get it through your head.

I'm not a HUGE fan but they're a good band. I will say their first CD and a big cup of coffee go together well for your early morning commute.

I just want to hear why they like them so much. Apparently that's too much to ask. I'm not planning and never did plan on arguing their points. I really just want to hear what makes Disturbed so great in their mind.

I enjoy the guitar riffs and the basic melodies. I like how they are a little different than mainstream rock, but not so different that they lose their identity of being a hard rock band. (Unlike those who integrate rap elements, which I don't care for much at all.... Although, Linkin Park is growing on me.) The vocal patterns are fun and very unique.

There ya go. :)
