Any disadvantages of only having two DIMM slots?

I am currently trying to select a motherboad for a budget/value gaming rig that I intend to build within the next few weeks. So far I have looked at a ton of different boards and have gotten a few recommendations for the ABIT KV8 Pro and the Chaintech VNF3-250. Should the ABIT only having 2 DIMM slots be a deciding factor when making my decision on which board I get? Feel free to give me a recommendation on one of these two boards or even suggest something different.

I have the chaintech and I couldn't be happier. I don't oc and I think its a steal for what you get.

My Soltek K8AN2E-GR only has 2 DIMM slots. At first I was concerned about this, then I learned that many A64 boards will drop back to DDR333 if more than 2 slots are populated anyways. And really, 1GB of RAM is plenty for even power users right now. Gaming, AV work, photoshop, etc. are all smooth with 1GB of RAM.

I am glad to hear that having 3 DIMM slots really doesnt make much sense. The answers I have recieved so far prompt me to ask another question though. Let's say I get the ABIT board with 2DIMM slots; is it not a good idea to use both? Will my ability to OC suffer if I have two sticks of 512 as opposed to just one stick of 1GB? I intend to eventually have 1GB but I wanted to get 512 now and 512 later so my budget would take less of a hit. But, if having both DIMM slots filled is an issue perhaps I will just get the 1GB to start with.

It should be perfectly fine. I think probably 90% or people with 1 GB of RAM probably have 512 x 2 set ups.
