Any difference between a coupler for 10M card and one for 10/100M card?

Can I use a coupler, which is originally for 10M PC Card, for a 10/100M card
to obtain 100M speed?
Or I have to use a coupler designed specially for 10/100M card?
Thanks

coupler? Do you mean connection two ends of a cat 5 cable? Not to sure what youa re trying to say.

If you mean a 10 card connected to a 10/100 card, then you will only get 10 speed. Also the quality of wiring does matter has well. Is it cat 5 cable?

oh ok. You need a new one. We call them dongles at work. Has far has I seen, you need a 10/100 dongle to work with a10/100 card. The pin outs are different. That my experience with the 3com cards.

If you are talking about a device that connects two male RJ45 ends together (eg bigger brother to the classic phone line connectors to turn two short cables into one long cable), it will be fine. But it could cause a little degredation in speed.
