Any diet pills actually work ?

I was walking around walmart the other day, and saw these HEAVILY advertised diet pills that apparently help you lose weight. Do any of these ACTUALLY work ?

I have been lazy for a bit now, but im going to try hitting the gym every single day. Going to hit more cardio and lifting. Lifting not so much, but whenever i do, i do atleast a mile on either eliptical or treadmill. About a year and half ago, i used to go everyday, and do atleast 4 miles on the elliptical, burning about 600 cals on avg. I lost weight during that time, but i got sick and gained it all back.

I want to try speed up my metabolism. Its very slow, and i cant tend to burn weight ! Any of these pills been USED by anyone on here ?

Thanks

I heard fenphen was pretty effective.....it not only burned your fat, it ate your heart, too! 🙄

Short of surgical procedures to short-circuit the digestive system, I think I'm safe in saying the only way to lose weight is the all-natural way. Diet & exercise. Everything else is a mixture of ineffective ingredients and caffeine, with an extraordinary price tag attached to it.

Yeah those diet pills all have on the back of them the words "when combine with a healthy diet and exercise"

The pills themselves are usually poison and stimulants like you would fine on the back of an energy drink.

If you are really interested in losing some weight get a hold of some amphetamines.

There is no magic pill that will make you *poof* lose weight. It takes a healthy, balanced diet AND sweat/exercise.

This isn't true at all. While they don't do all the work for you, I've taken a few that have greatly improved my cutting success. a simple e/c stack can help and increase energy levels but http://www.1stphorm.com/products/women/overdrive works wonders, not sure why it's listed under women but it doesn't really matter.

With that said, I wouldn't take anything for very long, a few weeks maybe a month to help get a cut finished. If you're trying to take the way route and not change your diet, nothing will help you lose the weight you want to lose. And by change your diet I don't mean 'go on a diet' but change what you eat and how you eat for as long as you want to maintain the weight loss.

I second the ec stack... works well but watch the dosage as it can be kind of harsh. Finding the "e" in ec stack is fairly easy to do if you do some digging around the solution is found at your local pharmacy.

I've looked, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for in terms of products at the pharmacy. I know I can Google, but I'd rather have reliable information from someone that's actually been doing an EC stack. I plan on starting the SL5x5 with the EC stack so I can burn fast and gain as fast.

If you have breathing problems you can get Bronkaid at the pharmacy. I use it when i have a really stuffy nose as it tends to dry things out for me.

You can find it at all the larger stores like walmart/kroger. Cost less then 15.

I have to go to the pharmacy counter and proceed to ask them for Bronkaid? I've never actually went to the pharmacy to buy anything except prescription pills.

It's all in the genes. My friend whom I've been running with for the past 2 months claims her bottom and belly's getting floppier from the exercise. Now of course, she's not telling me the whole story with the diet, so who knows.

I on the other hand has become really toned and tight overall from head to toe. But because I have a slim built, it doesn't matter how much I eat, my metabolism just burns everything. So instead of looking all buffed and big, I've become really sculpted. It's all in the genes!

At this time there isn't much which works. Alli can if your diet is high in fat because it blocks absorption, but it's an imperfect solution at best.

The mechanisms involved in hunger and satiety are incompletely understood at best and a puzzle to overcome. We are creatures outside our metabolic natural environment which ought to be foraging in a food scarce environment and walking about 30 miles a day to find it. Instead we are surrounded by food and psychological messages to consume, have abnormal rest and sleep schedules, and are effectively caged. Consequently a pill has to overcome the many failsafes that we have such as the decrease of metabolism during periods of caloric reduction and the incredibly difficult (and so far impossible) suppression of the appetite long term. Remember you are much the same as your ancestors 100k years ago. Those who were not metabolically thrifty (today's naturally thin people) were dead.

This is really untrue. And you're really not eating as much as you think you are.

To Azraele's point, something that helps you != something that does it for you. Plus, you basically said the same thing about eating a balanced diet in the subsequent statement.

I am no expert, but I would not recommend an EC stack if someone is looking to lose a lot of weight (read: someone who doesn't cycle cutting/bulking phases whom can handle it)

If such a thing really existed do you honestly think we'd be a nation of fatties?

I will say that some supplements are better than others for helping you lose weight while you diet and exercise. I been taking green tea and yohimbe and it seems to give me an energy boost and also curb my appetite a bit. In addition to the jogging and greens I seem to be doing much better.

Rule #1 Don't get your weight loss ideas from walking around Walmart. There's some stuff that works like ECA stack but it's not something that I would want to be on for a long period of time. And if you know something is bad enough for you that you need to cycle it, why do it in the first place? I know we live in a society where we want a pill to solve everything, but are you really addressing the underlying cause or just the symptoms? Once you go off the pills, what will happen? Do you want to be on pills for the rest of your life? Stop looking for shortcuts. You can obtain healthy, long term, sustainable results with proper nutrition and exercise.

I once ate salad with black beans that had gone bad. The resulting food poisoning made me drop a few pounds, so I'd say that rotten beans are a magical weight loss pill.

I remember about 10 years ago they used to show those Stacker2 ads (with the hot girl driving the racecar) on TV all the time. I wonder if that stuff is still around. :hmm:

Sounds like you're doing great. Just be patient. Warmer clothes when working out will increase your metabolism, as long as you don't pass out. 😉 There are also these.

i have used ECA stacks my whole life on and off.

20mg ephedrine/ 200mg caff. / 81mg aspirin is my stack, 3x a day usually 6:30-7:30, 11-12pm and then the final at 3:30-4:00pm.

IMHO the SL program is not a good fat-burning one. I like a more hyperthrophy focused plan where reps are up and intensity is kept over a longer period.

I focus on more heavy/strength based plans with bulking and maintenance.
