Any Detroiters out there?

I will be in Detroit again tomorrow night. I like hole in the wall places. If anyone knows of a good one, preferably that plays a lot of classic rock, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks for the warning GoodDad!

If I was heading to Windsor again, I am pretty sure the Canadian terror alert would have been raised.

😕

Lets just say it involves lots of drinking, a stripper, and US Customs. (and no this one is not a syringer)

I'm from Detroit, but I really don't know about any good bars or clubs (I don't drink and aren't much of a party person). I'm at college right now (in Kalamazoo) anyway.

If the local radio stations are any indication of the night-life in Detroit (the stations sponsor parties at many night-clubs, such as at Space Night Club), then all you'll hear is pop and rap. Go to www.clickondetroit.com and that might have some local listings you can look up.

I'm assuming downtown? you could see if anybody decent is playing the magic stick or the majestic. union street is a pretty good bar/resturant, but no live music, and it's not much of a hole in the wall. there's a couple other places in that area I can't recall names of at the moment.

In Detroit...like, downtown, I can't say that I know many hole-in-the-wall joints. You could always try The Post Bar...Hard Rock?

I know there are a couple of joints in the 'burbs that play classic rock, my friend goes there all the time when he's on leave from the Marines.

Too bad you'll only be around tomorrow, I'm in class most of the day, won't get home til 11 something.

Actually one of the things I found out recently about detroit is that there's a crapload of stuff that nobody knows about. The city's deceptive. lots of those burnt-out looking industrial centers actually house workshops and craftsmen, etc. interesting stuff is hidden away where no one sees it.

i'm from the suburbs and there's nothing much to do in the area. you have your basic mix of bars and sports bars

It all just depends on what you're looking for...I tend to do more artsy stuff and spend more time around the "upper-crust"-y places, but sometimes I'm with a different crowd...and yeah, you'll find the most random stuff out there. Problem is that unless someone's showing you, you don't want to have to go find it 😉
