TNG is still the best.

Yes it's a toss up... I think I like Voyager more, but there are a few changes they could have made to make it better. Like Janeway for example... what a horrid character... and they had the Doctor go from Mr. Stooge to Mrs. Happy. Too much contrast, he overplayed both spectrums.

DS9 truly was the best of the Star Trek series. It had excellent character development, great arcing storylines, awesome special effects, etc. etc. etc.

No other TV series has come close to what DS9 has accomplished.

Voyager sucks. Why even have a crew when the Captain knows how to do everything.

Nah. Data can do everything. He can run the whole Enterprise without any help. :D

I liked DS9, but didn't watch it much. I think the guy that played Sisko is very talented as an actor, so that was my favorite part. Don't think I saw much of the final season tho....

Sure he can. And he also knows when to keep his pie hole shut. If they had gotten someone besides Mrs. Columbo to run the ship, I think I might have watched it.

I couldn't stand how Voyager pussified the Borg.

In TNG the Borg were the almighty threat. Destroying entire fleets of ships with a single cube.
Voyager could do a strafing run on a Cube, with the hot-rodded shuttle craft, Delta Flyer, firing a couple phaser shots and they could completely disable the cube and make an escape on conventional warp drive.

At a point in the run of the series, Janeway and her lone ship in the delta quadrent had the borg queen with her arms behind her back, flying Voyager right through Borg homelands with a cube escort.

Agreed. They could have milked the Borg thing a helluva lot better than they did. They could have made the viewers aware that on any particular episode during the series, the Borg could show up and make things nasty. Instead, they made the Borg seem more trivial than the Kazon (who were stupid in every respect), so who cared if they showed up?

Voyager should have been trying to run and hide from the Borg, realistically, not trying to fight them.

Babylon 5 far exceeded DS9 in all of those respects.

I strongly agree with this; trivializing and wussifying the Borg was a bad idea. It ruined a lot of the credibility.

Besides, they could have had a lot of fun luring the Borg into Dominion space..

OK, B5 sucks!

It's like this: Voyager, DS9 and then TNG.

I know I'll get flamed for this... :) TNG was great for its time but both DS9 and Voyager surpassed it. I can't watch TNG anymore (though I did see almost all of the episodes initially).

That they could've done, though I don't remember the shuttle ever being able to disable a cube with a couple of phaser shots. Also, the Borg were weakened by their internal problems and keep in mind that Voyager had Seven, an ex Borg, and was one of a kind in that sense. Never before did the Federation posses that amount of knowledge about the borg, not to mention that the Borg queen didn't want to harm Seven...

I bought the first three seasons of Babylon 5 a few weeks ago...it's a good show, but some of the episodes (especially in the first season) are extremely cheesy.

I've got Seasons 1 through 5 on DVD. I love DS9, in many ways more than TNG. Part of the reason is that I watched DS9 from the beginning all the way through the middle of season 6. I've since caught other episodes in season 6 and 7, but I'm trying to play catch-up now that DS9 is out on DVD. I'm picking up the seasons as they come out and marathoning them.

I've seen all the TNG episodes at least 2 or 3 times each, and while I think they were in some ways more cohesive and sound of plot, DS9 had excellent (better perhaps) character development, and terrific special effects. I also liked the "dark" feeling. TV guide called DS9 the "dark, twisted sister" to TNG.

While I don't care for Voyager as a whole, I think there were some pretty impressive episodes and some great plot twists. There, I said it...

That's pretty well known. The story arc doesn't really establish itself until the 2nd season. The third and fourth seasons kick ass, and the fifth is a bit weak.

Agreed! And a better actress too. Terry Farrel's acting was terrible, always seemed like she was in a daze.
