Any specific design you had in mind? If not, just get them from your bank? I think they are free (at least they are from USAA)

Depends on the bank since most are pushing for paperless transactions Tiamat.

Fast and cheap

+2. I had custom checks made with a photo of my son. They were still cheaper than other online places, and WAY cheaper than obtaining checks through the bank.

Oh you're one of those assholes.

Pro tip - no one gives a fuck about your son except you. We don't want checks with his precious little face on them - they're not heartwarming, they're gay.

 do you spend a lot of time looking at other people's checks?

Checks are a complete ripoff anymore. I had to buy a box of 250 for 20 dollars last month because my landlord didn't want to bother with out of town checks anymore. 250 checks will last me... exactly 250 months (and jeebus only knows how many address changes)! It's not even worth putting your DL# on them anymore either, MN changes your ID number every time you renew now!

I know it's only 20 dollars but on a college budget, that same 20 could have fed me for half the week!

No, I'm a professional check inspector. I inspect peoples checks and then pass judgement on them.

Did not know that. I figured checks are still commonly used for things like paying rent for apartments. AFAIK, my apartment takes credit but only after a 70$ surcharge for each payment :(

Wow you Americans are pretty behind the times, eh. No one in NZ uses checks ever, except old folk. Pretty much the only thing I ever see checks used for is unusual business transactions and dividends paid by companies, though more often those are electronic too. Hardly anyone ever carries cash either.
