any danger to putting a low powered lamp next to an lcd?

I want a small lamp for my computer desk. However the desk is pretty small. I have a lamp with a 40 watt bulb. How close would be too close?

i think if the bulb was touching the LCD screen for hours on end until the LCD screen actually melted, then that would be too close.

Anything else is fine.
