Any danger in clicking a link?

I got a fake PayPal email, and out of curiousity, wanted to see where their "PayPal" link really went. So I clicked it, and after a couple of windows opening and closing, it started opening a PayPal pdf file. I closed it immediately. I figured that I was safe as long as I didn't put my name and password in (which I preach to friends and relatives about daily). But could the link have downloaded a keyword recorder or something? Wouldn't Norton have caught a virus? Should I be worried?

Here's the actual link (from viewing the source code in the email): http://altfarm.mediaplex.com/ad/ck/3440-19087-8030-0

you should be fine.

Nocturnal ... I am most confused

you say "Got Mozilla" and then your sig says "IE > **********"

though I do agree with one of those things ... mozilla is most excellent. ...

shouldn't it be IE < ********** ???

Looks like it may install a spyware cookie. Ad Aware found this: "obj[17]=File : c:\documents and settings\robert\cookies\robert@mediaplex[2].txt"
