any CS admins out there?

question for you guys who run CS servers. when u ban someone... do u ban them by ip, or won id? i got banned from a server becuz some dude (my teammate) kept FB'ing us, so i turned and shot him in the face. i guess he was the admin so he kicked me. i rejoined and the dude FB'ed me again... so i shot him in the face again. then i got banned. now... of course i had no idea he was admin until after i got banned... but that is besides the point. i am pretty sure my ip # has changed... so i doubt i am being banned by ip. how else can a person be banned? i am guessing won id. is that possible?

LOL Hank! I think you get banned by WON ID because sometimes when you log on to a server, you see the message "Banned? Send your WON ID to blah@blah.com" Hope this helps, and try not to shoot others in the face...

hehe... thanx for the tip anthony i'm not too worried about it tho, becuz i got another copy of CS with my radeon 8500. i will prolly install that version and try not to shoot anymore admins

Yup I used to ban by won id all the time. kept the assholes from rejoining. not going to let some ass trash the server while im on watch

glad I got out of it though, server was a 32 player thing with FF on and had an awesome connection so it was always packed. I did more admining than playing when I was the only admin there

haha... me too its funny... i always see ppl posting in ATOT saying something like "not to brag, but i'm pretty freaking good at CS". i guess me and u are the only ones with the balls to say we suck

Be glad you got banned, you can go to jail for attempted murder!

you can also get banned by name.. well not really banned, but just not let in.. so if someone for some reason, dind't like the name habib, they could just not allow that on their server... but anyhow.. usually server's are clan owned, and they usually have a site.. so you can go check that out, and possibly ask one of the admins to unban you or something.. we actually have a forum for people to plead their cases to us (the admins) and we decide wether s/he should be let back in or not..

My highest score in CS was 122/13, which from formats I don't have the SS anymore...The best recorded scores that I saw in the SS folder were these two....I got 27/1 here, and 19/0 here....(I'm the Nacho eating Gibbon man )
Also...if you wanna do me a favor ping me, and reply telling me like the state, or country of where you are and the ping time....(testing out a server, on cable, so only 30K/s up max)

We ban by wonID over at cs.ucdavis.org and we don't have dickhead admins like the one you just described. We kick those who FB at the spawn, those who shoot fellow AWPers in the head while trying to aim, etc. That and everyone tries to have fun. We also have stats and forums and so forth

Yeah I just usualy kick if they keep doin it, then they mite come back and say whyed u kick me and start all over then i ban by wonid, or i ban by wonid for like 30 min. Generaly i try to be nice and help the noobs out as well. Yeah it sucks when u really want to play but u end up having to do all this admin stuff mid game then they shoot u typing..lol...

I've never played counterstrike, but if my UT skills are any indication, I suck at CS too

Ah. ucdnam. Long time no see. Is it still possible for me to be an Admin on the UCD servers? FoAd hasn't been the nicest thing in the world lately so I'm playing on UCD a lot again. I think I'll stay here. I've logged some playing time and met up again with the old regulars and some new ones.

Mwahaha you're so funny. Its probably true. At least in CS, I dont think you're able to launch yourself off the map in a vain attempt to rescue the flag

Alas, I suck at CS as well. I've played it once or twice and there was just too uch strategy and teamwork involved. (I'm more of a run around and shoot at everything that moves until it stops moving kind of guy. Even RTCW multi has too much strategy for me... I cant help it; I'm stupid)
