Any chess players?

Anyone know any FREE sites that has info like strategy and such? I keep getting owned by this freeware chess program. Someone download it and give it a try. I've been playing with the computer set to think for 10 seconds. So, if you have an uber computer, you might jack down the think time some.

edit: I don't really get owned, but I can't beat it when it's set to 10 seconds. The computer usually ends up with a rook or bishop and 6?!? pawns toward the end of the game. I'm usually left with a rook or a knight and maybe 3 pawns if I'm lucky.

its not exactly what you are looking for, but try redhotpawn.com. IT allows you to play with other people, just playing is how you get good.

Switch up computer games can help too, you can get a lot of free or shareware games at hotfiles.com, most used different set moves or have defferent openings, but getting your butt kicked a few times and watching is the only way to get really good.

<--Is not really good, but lost and won a lot of games.

chess club is the best site for chess players, ever. My dad started playing there since I told him about it, he has played over 50,000 games since! LMAO, he plays 3min games though. You can play there as a guest (not getting any ratings) or you can try it out for 14 days for free. It is $50 a year but is great if you play chess.

If you join, say that addled sent you, that is my dads name, he will get a couple months free I think.

Best chess site ever, period.
