Any chances of my mp3 player working again...?

Like a moron I let my mp3 player go through the wash. It was in a zipped pocket of a north face fleece. If I take out the memory card and let it dry to you think there is a chance it will still work? I can't actually test it until next weekend because it is at home and I am at school (my mom called and told me she washed it).
Its a solid state complact flash player.
It was in its case, in my pocket, so hopefully she still works.

Take it apart and let it dry completely (as in several days) and then try it. It might still work.

You can but try. I've heard of stranger things. Like throwing a pint of Foster's lager into my friends computer - whilst switched on - pulling the power lead out, drying it, then turning it back on and having it still work - albeit in a sticky way. BTW, the HD was sitting in 1/2" of lager!! (PCB side down  )

On a somewhat related note, I have a friend who was told by a Gateway techie you could wash a keyboard in the dishwasher. I've never tried it, I pretty much called shenanigans on that, but is it true? I doubt it.

I bet it will still work. I've heard of much worse stories about electronics equipment being submerged in water and surviving. The only thing that may screw you is the capacitors. If water leaks into them, they're screwed. But they should be water tight in theory at least.

I heard you could do that, after spilling juice on myne i washed it in the bathtub :) still works fine (using it rite now)

For the mp3 player, like said above, let it dry completely, open it up so it will dry better, then try to use it. If it dosent work, and still looks new ebay it :)

I would suggest rinsing it out with alcohol to make sure any residue from the detergent is removed, and the alcohol should help dry things out.
