Why not just start linking to the post where you resolved the story? The word will eventually filter around and people will stop.

Wow! Weird how the resolution went by in the blink of an eye, yet 'legend' lives on.

Late one night a few weeks ago Syringer was drunk out of his mind and posted some random thread. Someone (I think it might have been me 😛 ) asked what happened to the Spider, and he said that he killed it.

I don't remember the thread title so I don't know what to search for, otherwise I'd link it.
 
Darn, some actions have consequences? Who da thunk! Look at it this way, you made it into an online dictionary. 😀

We all have our own special lessons to learn. Normally, I would point out that it won't matter 10 years from now, but I have never had one of those things become part of the urban dictionary either. ;D
