Any chance of getting custom avatars?

I know it's an option in VB. Just wondering if we might get them?
If not, can I get one added?
I've got an awesome photo (that I took myself) of a gorilla, that I cropped down to 100x100 and 2.8k.

Custom avatars are currently disabled, there are rumors that they will be re-enabled in a few weeks when things calm down but as far as I know that's unconfirmed. I would say it's extraordinarily unlikely they will grant individual users their own custom avatars as this would only lead to the admins receiving thousands of avatar requests and they don't have the resources to deal with this. You may have seen some members with custom avatars already - these are the moderators, everyone with mod privileges has already been granted custom avatars.

The avatars created by Mrs Toon are approved for a number of social networking sites. She will only do toons of people. Her examples are all in good taste.

Well I was responding to the OP's request of having an avatar enabled especially for him while custom avatars are disabled.
