Any cell phone better then another...??? Reception/Signal

Are some cell phones better at getting a signal then others? Me and my girl, Trinh, got the V1-2300 sanyo and it can;t get a good signal in her house. neither can my older kyocera phone. The service is sprint and IBM employees get a 25% discount so we arwe trying to stick to them.
We are returning the sanyo's but am trying to find something that may work better abnd not cost a arm and a leg. Like the Samsung PM-840 or something???

Overall, I think Nokias have better reception than most other phones, regardless of price range.

I.E. a hundred dollar Nokia has better reception than Motos in most any price range.

actually it is not that bad here in the Raleigh/RTP/Cary area. just her place a couple others it is weak. That is why I am looking for what has the best signal.

I also read that internal lose 15-20 to external antenna's, that sound about right?

Sprint user for 5yrs here!

Great service for the money as I too get a 23% discount from my firm.

My Sanyo 8100 has a good range.

What does that sentence mean?

Are you saying that an internal antenna loses 15-20% of its power compared to an external?

If so, dont worry about it. ALL cell phone antennas are inefficiant. And internals are much better nowadays.

Huh, my sister and her husband, who live in the raleigh suburbs, had sprint and hated it. They went to verizon and it improved a lot. They had basic samsungs with sprint and have other samsung phones now.

Uhh Sprint is good.

Receptionwise, Nokias and Samsungs rank up there. Motorola would be next and Sony Ericsson is terrible.
