Any Canadians tried Sleeman's Clear yet?

Sleeman's new light beer...only 2.5 carbs per bottle and 90 calories. It's only available in ontario now. I hate altering my diet for my drinking nights...this could help a lot. It's about 1/3 the carbs of normal light beer.

A long shot but I thought I'd try.

I don't live in Ontario so I haven't tried the Clear type yet, but I love regular Sleeman cream ale. I'll have to give this a shot if they start shipping it to NS.

I have never tried Sleemans. I have tried lots of other beers by Molson, Labatts and Carling.

I do like Labatts Crystal for a lighter beer. I like Black Ice for regular beer. And I like Molson XXX for getting seriously hammered.

I like Kitsilano Breweries Maple Cream Ale........ probably only available in in BC since it's a micro brew.

Come on!

I gain weight easily, but I still want to get drunk on occasion. Sleeman beer is pretty damn good so I thought maybe they can make a good light beer. ONE of the beers I normally buy (Labbat Genuine Draft) is roughly the same carbs as FIVE Sleeman Clear's! Light beer before was only half the carbs of my LGD so there wasn't much initiative for me.

Beer belly can become a reality for me, so this stuff is a godsend (as long as it is decent tasting).

The only Sleemans I've tried is Honey Brown Ale(I believe), but I'm more of a Rickard's Red fan.

Picked up a 12 today.

Verdict: Not bad at all! It's a bit less fizzy than regular beer (a plus in my book), and the taste is pleasant and not overpowering in the least. IMO, the only thing that holds this beer back from taking off is the price. ($20.95 for 12, $37.95 for 24)

Gotta be just you. Cream Ale is about as far away from a traditional lager as you can get 🙂

I went to school at Guelph and would drive by the Sleeman plant and you could see the huge copper kettles inside. They used to give free tours and you could drink for free for an hour. Wonder if they still do that?

I fired off 16 bottles of Clear last Saturday. Verdict: Weak, but pleasant taste and low carbination. Not exactly my thing as it's pretty flavourless and has absolutely no aftertaste. Still, I would recommend it for light beer drinkers.

I'm a HUGE fan of nearly all Sleeman products and I try to drink them whenever possible. Silver Creek Lager is the best, IMO.
