If coil whine out of the box is a concern, buy from a place that has a generous return policy. For example, Microcenter will take it back and they offer a fairly good extended warranty. I've also been able to exchange open computer components through Amazon in the first 30 days if marked as defective.

Going the RMA route is always a pain but EVGA may be the best at working with you for something like coil whine.
