Any boards with interchangable agp/pci express?

I've never looked at a pci-express connector so I don't know how different they are from agp. Just wondering if any MBs have an interchangable agp 8X and pci express that could use either type.

Looking to get a new motherboard, but can't afford a new video card right now. What I have is an AGP card. Just looking out for future upgrades.

I appreciate it.

One upgrade problem you might have is that those boards' PCI-Express graphics card slot is only x4. That bandwidth limitation may affect the performance of future upgrades.

I'm almost certain that's not the case on the 939 Dual boards (it may be on the 775 one however, I seem to have read something to that effect).

If you have an AGP card and are considering the Asrock 775 Dual-VSTA, it's a good upgrade for you. On this board most AGP video cards show more performance than their pci-express counterparts.

This board rocks for the dough.

I'm new to pci express, just a couple questions. Does this board support sli?

This board also features both AGP 8X capability, PCI-E graphics ability at X4 operation,
And does this confirm that the pci express actually runs slower than normal?

thanks.

Edit: Ugh, a socket 478 processor isn't going to work with this is it?

no it is a socket t or soem peoepl call it 775. And yes, the pci-e on asrock will run a bit slower than the regular one but you also have the advantage of using old agp board and ddr ram. In a way it allow you to use a mix or thr newest and old technology and it work so well it is amazing.
