After spending some time getting into The Hold Steady, The Whigs, Kings of Leon, and the Black Keys... I agree. I think it just went into hiding for a decade or so.
saw 'em at a half-full Ottobar (maybe 150 people) right after Thickfreakness came out. Seen them 5 other times since at sold-out 1000+ person venues and VirginFest. glad they're making it.
This version of Thickfreakness is proof enough to any doubters that they're bringing quality rock and roll back to the mainstream.. I'm a HUGE fuzz head (I have something of a collection of fuzz pedals thats just now hit double digits 😱 ) and this just fucking melts faces.
