In the market for a car soon. Was wondering if it's worth to wait for the 2012 model of the FFH. Ideally I would like to wait until 2013 for a plug-in model but 2 kids would probably be a pain in by current coupe.

If you can wait then you will see the differance and also get a good deal on the 2011's.

But the differance is 1

2011

2012

The new Prius Wagon is out soon I think ' though they don't call it a wagon' supposed to be huge inside

Math fail. What you showed was the sum of 2011 and 1.

The difference between 2011 and 2012 is 2011-2012=-1

Back in 2010, Ford was promising 30 miles on electric for the 2012s, don't think we'll be seeing that though.

Need something bigger than that though. Fusion is the right size and I've been hearing good things.

If your order the car to be build, do dealers offer any deals or is it just a fixed price? I would imagine they want to sell what they have in stock.

Typically, you get no dealership incentives/rebates if you special order a vehicle.

Like everyone else has been saying, it's essentially the same vehicle in '12 as it was '11. You may get a new color option, or different packages available, but that would be the extent of it.

The new Buick LaCross "e-assist" will be available this fall for around $30k. A few grand more than the Fusion, but lots more standard features as well being a larger vehicle and much classier. Same mpg's highway, a bit less in the city at 25/37 (estimated, no official EPA figures yet).

yea, I had looked into that, though it was the Regal. It's big difference though, 25 vs 36.

It depends on how you drive. It's a big difference if you do a lot of city/slow driving. If you're mostly 45+ mph and little stop-and-go, the difference will be pretty negligible. Also, GM has been lowballing their estimated EPA figures lately (Equinox, Camaro, Cruze, etc). When it does become EPA certified, I would expect another mpg or two on each the city and highway cycle.

The posters in that thread are not very accurate. It's not the "recycled version of the same system introduced in 2009", it has improved quite a bit and is lower cost.

Just food for thought. It should be out late summer/early fall so we're only maybe two months away from the first professional reviews.

Just buy the Fusion, I've had my 2010 Fusion Hybrid for 2 years now, it's got 40K miles on it and it still drives and looks new. Really a great car for the money and if you are willing to not drive like a bat out of hell, you'll get outstanding mileage.

I'm leaning towards waiting until 2013. Trouble is I'll have 2 kids that Ihave to take to daycare and a 2 door just doesn't work. Guess my wife'll have to drive it while I take the Escape. When do the new models come out, Oct?

New models of what? If it's a carryover year, then they typically change the tooling over in July and production of the next calendar years model usually start popping up in late August, early September.

If it's a brand new model or refresh model, it can be anytime between February and December of the previous year. Example, the 2012 Ford Focus hit dealerships in April of 2011. The 2011 Ford Explorers hit dealerships in either November or December of 2010. There's really no standard time.
