Any better mini keyboard recommendations for XBMC before I buy this?

I have two HTPCs and have gone through several keyboards. By far my favorite is this one:

Pricier than the others for sure although there are often sales on it. I think I got it for $40

My next favorite is this one:

Not back lit and the battery life isn't nearly as good as the Logitech but more than tolerable to use. (Its not backlite like the one you linked though)
 
I use this one. My only complaint is that sometimes it misses keystrokes if it can't "detect" your hand holding the device, but if you know you need to hold the back of the device it works great.
 
I owned the Rii i8. Let's just politely say it was not a good device. The device couldn't hold a signal with my HTPC which was about 7 feet away and usability was subpar. It's collecting dust in a drawer currently.

My HTPC keyboard of choice was the Logitech K400. It is a good device but the build quality is a little creaky. The battery life is massive. Overall I'd recommend it for a cheap HTPC keyboard option though.

I'm now using the Logitech K830 which is a sturdier version of the K400 with backlit keys. Before buying, I had read that battery life wasn't great (like 2 weeks vs. the better part of a year for the K400) but I've gone a month without having to charge it so far so I can't complain. It's pricey but worth the extra bucks IMO.
 
I wouldn't replace a TV-ish remote (single-handed sightless use) with a keyboard, but only supplement it for typing only.

I went with something similar to this.

They're not as wide as the option present by OP.

These little "small tasks" keyboards should be viewed as really only entering passwords and such.

If one is going to be doing texting and email, then I'd use a larger KB or Google keyboard Remote app off of my smartphone.

Sometimes, I need to do a lot of scrolling, so in those instances, the touchpad is really too small for longer strokes across the screen (for XBMC menus, it's perfect!...much faster/efficient), I pull out this handy little bluetooth mouse (as of late I've been using it a lot more than the little bluetooth KB...actually it has almost entirely replaced the KB since I scroll to get into apps versus really typing in anything):

I have a logitech Dinovo Edge that is fantastic. Better range than any other bluetooth device I have. Still lasts months on a charge after something like 5 years of use. Key action is very nice. Ive worn the keys I use for movement in games until they're glossy, but somehow the letters on them haven't worn at all. Unfortunately since it went out of production the price has skyrocketed for them.

In the last couple of months I got this qq-tech keyboard based on a short youtube review I happened to see. It works quite well for what it is. In situations where I just don't feel like hauling out the dinovo edge I can use it to do basically anything on my HTPC. It's about the size of a regular TV remote.
 
I have the older version of that Rii remote, OP. It works well. I use it mostly as a presentation remote than an HTPC remote, though. But I have tested it with XBMC on my Raspberry Pi and OSMC, and it works perfectly for both.

Completely agreed. I went through a number of the "mini devices" and generally, they're trash. I have 3x K400's.

The iPazzport devices.. yikes, don't care how many "4-5 star reviews" exists. Don't bother. I've probably had 11-12 of them with 30%ish DOA (generally pairing issues with the wifi/BT receiver) and then another 30% died within a few weeks-months. I have a few that are stil functional, but I'm not holding out much hope.

If you want a mini device, then as long as you're willing to spend, the Logitech mini above is quite nice.

I'll throw in another endorsement of the K400. I also wanted something smaller than the K400, but all the "budget" mini keyboards I tried before the K400 were complete rubbish.

Right now I have the K400 along with a smaller Lenovo N5902 (http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Enhanc...pebp=1440712383727&perid=1EDQ2EFXP8KHCAG1Q037) The K400 is way better, IMO.
