Any Benefit to using HDMI Port?

Any benefit using the HDMI port on the video card if it is just going to a DVI input on the monitor? Or will it be the same using DVI to DVI? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

There will be no benefit using a HDMI converter to go from HDMI to DVI on a monitor. Just use the DVI port on your video card.

The only thing HDMI can do over DVI is carry audio as well.
The video part of HDMI is exactly the same as DVI.

Both can support HDCP etc.

HDMI to DVI or DVI to HDMI makes no difference, it's the same as DVI to DVI and HDMI to HDMI (video only).
