:D

I'm leaving a week from today for a semester of studying at the University of Tasmania. I'll be on the Hobart campus studying journalism. If there's anyone nearby who wouldn't mind showing around a dull-brained American, I'll be kindly obliged to buy you a beer(s).

Journalism. I wonder if you're going to be studying how all the newspapers are slowly going down the tubes, with the exception of the Wall Street Journal.

Not from tasmania and not speaking from personal experience but while down there take some time out to explore the country side. Some really beautiful scenery down there!!

No reason to be a smartass ;)

I know print journalism in the shits. I'm in photo though, so I'll have a career regardless, be it video, photo for print, or photo for web.

Locut0s -- I'm planning on hitchhiking 'round the island for the first week or two before classes start.

Tasmanian -- where on the island are you locateD?

Wow, a semester of photojournalism in Tasmania? Sounds pretty fun.

Also good luck with your career as a photojournalist. I considered that briefly while I was in high school (I'm pretty into photography) but I got out of there rather quickly...photo is a quite competitive field.

take some warm clothes, we are coming into winter, and it could be quite chilly down there
