dang

this thing rocks!

12 x 166 on my first boot 🙂

default voltage

= 2.0 ghz !!!

i couldn't even hit 2.0 ghz with my 0250 🙂

I just got mine from newegg ordered on the 27th and received it today.
Its a axda1700dut3c
jiuhb 0302wpmw

waiting on the rest of my system before I can post results but it seems like it has promise. I saw on another board that someone hit 2.5 ghz with his.

12 x 175 = 2100 @ 1.675V

I will prime95 it for 6 hours. 🙂

I like my 1700+ better than my 2100+

only 25 more mhz to hit speeds faster than my 2100+ 🙂

Dammit you recieved a Tbred B from NewEgg as well ordering the day after me??

I ordered mine on the 26th and got a Tbred A, am i the only person who ordererd a tbred of Newegg and got sent the Rev A version

I got this chip specifically to overclock after reading this forum decided to go with newegg as everyone seemed to be getting rev b's off of their

even got the SLK 800 and YS tech variable fan for it 🙁

What speed can i realisitically hope to reach with this chip

here's all the stepping info so that you can see the date etc.....

AXDA1700LT3C 9275328270515
AIUGA 0249TPBW

*Before anyone berates me for whining im just saying im a little unlucky under the circumstances, i actually posted to warn others that they might not receive a rev B even if they order from NewEgg, although i checked the price today and its gone up by $10 to 57 from when i bought it so its not really worth it if you can find an 1800 rev b somewhere*

you have a mature A

i say you should be able to hit 2 ghz possibly...

hey, this is my second 1700+

my first one 0250 B could only do 1950 🙁

seriously, it's all luck of the draw

thanks if it can come close to 2ghz then i really shouldn't complain besides at $47 thats still a good price i think🙂

The reason i was a little bummed to be honest was that i wanted to try it out in the new Shuttle Nforce 2 Im building. You can't change the Mulitplier or the voltage on their board so it will be FSB only.

So heres a question for you, if i change nothing except for the FSB of my chip to 333mhz then what ghz will that be running at. I don't know the actual mhz of a 1700 so i can't do this simple maths for myself.

Thanks in advance to whoever answers my simple question 🙂.

*I will be running the chip in an Epox 8RDA+ after the Shuttle so i can post exactly how much it does after that in about 2 weeks though i have to go back to the UK*

if i'm correct
it's

11 x 133 = 1463

so you'll be stuck with a mult of 11 but if you have pc3200 ram or whatever you can hit

11 x 200 = 2200 mhz

or less than that 🙂

good luck!

shin i have seen one other report, i believe, of someone else getting an a instead of a b so your not alone and yeah it is a mature a it should do ok.

congrats shim, over your sucsessful overclock.
btw, should i rename this thread as the official 1700+ t-bred b thread?

Shin if you read through, you will see that myself and Boogsie, who both ordered on 1-24 and received on 1-29 also got AIUGA's. I feel same as you, for 3 weeks I watched as people kept getting B's so I finally order and get an A. If you're that upset about it just RMA it and don't worry about what people say about it, after all you are paying for it. I know a guy who received a B but because he got JIUCB instead of JIUHB RMA'd it. He doesn't realize how lucky he was, heh.

I got a 2002 week 33 bredA anybody know how far you can take these? I've taken it to 1.8 stable on my kt3 my K7N2-L comes today in the mail I'm stoked

no shim = no problem 🙂

btw...

i got my tbred 1700+ to 2170 right now stable @ 1.775V running prime95 for 4.5 hours no errors...

i tried 2.2 ghz @ 1.85V but prime crashed on me sometime while i was in bed....

i might try 2.2 again... if this thing can hit 2.2, it's a keeper!

I got an xp 1700+ yesterday from Newegg. It was a thoroughbred B. If I remember correctly, it was a JIUHB stepping. I'm sure it was a "J" stepping... I didn't write it down so...

It was a week three 2003. I had no problems overclocking it to ~2 GHz - 12 x 166. It ran Prime95 fine for 8 hours or so. I was able to get into windows at 12.5 x 166, but Prime95 wouldn't run.

I used a MSI K7N2G-L board with 2 x 256 Crucial PC 2100.

The CPU temp is 55 C and the system temp is 36 C. (When I was running Prime95, the temp hit ~61 C or so. Does anyone know the max temp the XPs are rated at (I thought it was about 85 C or so)?

I set the core voltage to 1.7V.

I may play with it some more later, but for now I think I'll leave it alone.

yeah, your temps are REALLY HIGH!!! what sort of cooling are you using? that might help figure out what the problem may be....

LOL Shim, if it doesn't hit 2.2 can I have it? I'll take that over the A they sent me......

I received my XP1700+ today which was ordered 1/25. I also received an "A"!

The code is AIUGA 0247MPM

This proc is running at 1917Mhz (166.7x11.5) right now, no problem (haven't run stress tests yet..)

My m/b is an Epox 8K5A2 with 512Mb of Kingston PC2700 (don't laugh...my old 1600 ran at 1750 no problem!) H/S is a Coolermaster HHC-001 with an 80MM fan (SLK-800 arriving next week!), temp is running 39-40C. This is 3-4 degrees cooler than the 1600 at faster speed!

If I try to crank the multiplier to 12, it will post, but I get a video error during Windows startup then a freeze. (Vid card is a Matrox Millenium)

Any way around this?

Edit 9:35AM 2/1/03:

Well, just completed 12 hours of Prime95 without a problem, temps never went over 42C. I think it's a keeper!

Update, I have closed the 5th L3 bridge with the defogger kit and I still can not get past the 12.5x multiplier. :disgust: Has anybody been able to get past the 12.5x multiplier?

sure! let's wait and see how my 2100+ does first... i ordered a 2100+ that'll be here next week....

once i get it and test it out, then i'll prolly have to sell this 1700+ anyway 🙂

I got one from Googlegear a while back (1700+), but it has "A" stepping. Just what disadvantage does this put me in? Can I still do a wire trick or connect bridges in order to change the multiplier? Do B's still have to do that? (A7N8X deluxe mobo btw)

It's running 166Mhz x 11 multiplier pretty stable with about 47 deg celcius with Prime95 torture test. 1.7v.

I have a XP1700,,Right now I'm hitting XP2200 speeds..1799mhz

Settings are as follows

system clock 149.98
multiplier 12
system bus 299.97

What do you all think of this O/C/?

I'm interested in your comments

is it an A or B? if it's a B, you should be able to go higher!!! my first 1700+ did 1950! i think you can break 1.9 ghz at least!

go go go!!!
