Any AK people here? Got a question on a gun...

So my roomate just bought an AK, and I've always wanted one. I've been checking out www.classicarms.us, and they're running a sale on Monday for a Romanian AK MV. What's the difference in an AK and the AK MV? I've read it's just the 45* compensator and bayonet mount. Does anyone have any suggestions on the AK or should I get something else?
 
AKs have slaughtered more innocents than any other rifle. Unless you want to have the deaths of millions eating at your soul, I suggest you purchase an AR-15 or a variant. You see, ARs are only used by the good guys like the US and Israel, so they have not been used in the slaughter of the innocent. Only terrorists and other criminal scum use AKs. Everyone knows this.

That's true. The US doesn't slaughter innocent...they didn't drop incendiary bombs on Japanese cities in WWII killing more Japanese civilians BEFORE dropping the nuke than they did after dropping it. And when you total up the death toll, the US didn't kill more innocent women and children than Hitler did.

Oh wait...the US actually did, and could have been tried for war crimes but managed to escape the scrutiny...must have forgotten to add that part to the history books.

I'd take the AK. The burnt-in vengeance probably makes it work better. Just get the one that is in the best shape. You can't go wrong with the AK!

You can't really go wrong with a AK-47. Even the crappiest ones you can buy will shoot great and always fire.

I love my AK-47. It's a cheap WASR-10. I paid like 400 bucks for it.
 
i am in the market as well, i had heard that SAIGA was the best for ak47? not real sure..i have been eying those over on classic arms as well and the mosin nagant bolt action hex guns. nice price.
 
I have been looking at these gun threads for quite a long now. I am very curious to know why do these people buy 400$ ~ 500$ guns !! I mean you don't get to shot anyone with that right !! You could just use a pepper spray on burglars.

Could some one educate me about this ..!!
 
AK-47. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

I think the idea is that you kill the robber with one shot, then empty the rest of the magazine into him / her to make sure.

An ak round is very powerful. Fun to destroy stuff. Phone books are really fun. I'm looking to get a fully automatic ak. That's gonna be sweet.

The people who have guns get to tell the people without guns what to do.

If both people have guns, the one with the bigger gun usually wins.

Did you sleep through history class or did you not notice that humans in general are prone to violent confrontations. Illegal or not, asking "why do you need a gun" is just as stupid as asking "why do cars have an extra tire in the trunk".
 
I love my AK. It's more fun to shoot than my AR..also a lot more accurate, but I think that's because I rarely take my AR out..and it's never been sighted in. Minor detail. 😛

I held a real Nagant that had matching serial numbers and still had all the stamps in 100% shape. It's great. I love the feel (and this one had a bayonet). There's a pawn shop that my roomate and I go to all the time and the guy who works the gun counter (he has 300 on the wall and a ton more in storage) was an ex-army sniper. Showed us a .50 cal sniper rifle. Also held a P-90. Those are sweet guns...

I've heard a lot about SAIGA. I just go my grandpa's VIS Model 35 from WW2 and a .22 Mossberg from my mom. I really want either an AK or a M1 Gerand...
 
Since nobody has addressed the OP...

For a cheap AK, you can't go wrong with that deal at Classic Arms. You definitely want the compensator, that will improve accuracy greatly. The WASR (the Romanian AK varient) is a reliable, cheap gun.

I visit that site frequently to see what they have. Got a 91/30 sniper there a while back. I'm considering picking up one of those AKs as well.

If you are looking for quality AKs, look to K-var and their Saigas. The Romanian one you are looking at is a WASR, which = cheapest quality. With that being said it is still an AK and will shoot.

Before you buy anything look into prices of ammo. You'll be buying a gun to shoot it...so remember that it will cost money to do that. I went with an AK/SKS with its 7.62x39 and a Mosin with its 7.62x54r. ARs and 308s are much more per round.
