Any advice

Hey all! First question here. I'm a web developer, not much of a programmer, and I'm looking for some advice. I have a girlfriend, she's a model, and I want to make a pretty website for her, there will be photos, her articles, etc. Recently I've had an experience dealing with cms, what do you think about lms, like this one? I've already read that this is more easier to use than cms.
Does anyone have any advice or better suggestions, or does it sound like I'm on the right path?
Thanks, guys!

It looks like an LMS is for teaching a class. The only one I'm familiar with is Moodle, which is Free.

However, for the website you're describing, I'd suggest a blogging platform. Wordpress is one of the most commonly used blogging systems.

I wouldn't spend money on a CMS. Maybe on the theme graphics, but not on the backend. Edit: Here's a bunch of Free Wordpress themes.

If you're not much of a programmer it's safer to have wordpress.com host the blog for you, since they take care of all of the security updates. Prices start at free.

Yep, +1 for wordpress.com. Or tumblr would work as well, and is probably more suited to a "photo blog" out of the gate.

I still think Moodle is all wrong for this kind of site. (The other) Mark had a good suggestion with Tumblr. They have lots of different themes, and you can even host a Tumblr site on its own domain. Though I don't know if the social and reblogging aspects are something you want.

FWIW, I concur with the responses suggesting that an LMS (Learning Management System) is probably NOT the best solution for your project. Take a look around the internet at some sites that are similar to what you plan to create, and you'll likely find that they are blogs.
