I just got my dsl installed and am looking for a router for my home network. My father-in-law has a linksys and he says he has to reboot the router at least every other day to keep a connection. Anyone have experience with linksys to know if this is standard? Or other ideas? Dlink maybe?

my linksys was a piece of crap, I'm pretty wary of the company now, atleast for their line of routers

I picked up a webramp 700s for $18.00.

It was worth anywhere from $300 to $500 a few years ago, only prob is the company got bought by nokia.

For $18 though, its a good piece. Stateful packet inspection built in firewall, access control, good access rule support, and content filtering. I'll try to find where i bought it.

oh yeah, only other prob is its 10base.

My D-Link DI-604 is nice and only $40.

Best Buy has a Linksys on sale this week for $30 AR. I just upgraded from a Linksys Hub I've had for 2 years with no problems.

My SMC 4 port router has never had a problem at all. Hasn't been turned off in months except when the cable goes out and I turn everything off to reset it just in case. Highly recommend it and my version has a printer port as well which works great.
