Any adapters that will let me attach a garden hose to my kitchen sink faucet?

Home Depot sold me something that won't work. It says 'Faucet Adapter', but i'm pretty sure its for an outdoor spicket as its way too big.

I connect a hose to my faucets to change the water in my fish tank. I used to use the plastic one shown in the link above, but it stripped, so I went to Ace hardware, and they had a set of 3 or 4 threaded metal pieces that would fit together in combinations allowing it to attach to any size faucet on one side and then to a hose on the other. Metal is nice since it doesn't strip, or blow out of the faucet under pressure.

I told the guy at Ace what I was trying to do, he wasn't certain about what I needed, but he did get me to the right section and and to within a few feet of the package, and I figured it out from there.

Do you have to remove your aerator to use the adapter? I would think you'd have to take it off to screw on whatever attachment you need.

You'll need to know the size of the faucet. I want to say they're 13/16" standard or maybe 3/4", but I remember something that ended in /16 when I replaced my aerator last month.

Take the aerator off the faucet, take it to a good hardware store so you know what size the threads are, and they'll fix you right up.

This is possible and it's not one adapter. I recently did this at my house. First you'll have to remove the aerator and use that as a guide. The aerator will have the diameter that is need for the adapter. The first adapter will enlarger the diameter of the faucet and the second adapter decreases the diameter of the house and then you mate it together. Just take the parts to a real plumbing supply store and you should be able to find the two parts.
