Any 2GB Radeon 6950 cards unlockable to 6970?

I was looking at cards the other day and saw that you can get a 6970 with a non reference cooler for less money than you can get a stock 6950.

Really? Stock 6950s can be found for $250 (after rebates) with quiet non-reference coolers. The cheapest 6970 is $310 on Newegg with a reference cooler which isn't quiet either.

I'd really like to know if more people were able to successfully unlock the shaders on the Sapphire Dirt 3 edition. I read a review somewhere where they were able to do it, but one of the newegg reviews says that they were not successful.
