Any 1 know of a good, free, password recovery utility?

My email keeps bringing up a window about "Windows Protected Storage" asking for my windows password. I don't remember ever setting up a windows password. It won't take my NT account login password and it won't take a blank field. I was hoping there was a good app out there that could help me past this
