Any 1 here or like Volvos? ( I Love volvos)

I'm a big Volvo fan... I was gonna get one but ended up with a mini-van instead...

The Mom-mobile!

My mom loves volvos. She has too incredibly old, box shaped, station wagos. I'm going to inherit one that is older than me, has over 250,000 miles, and looks like a herse.

I wanna get a Volvo Cross Country, it's an SUV-performing Station Wagon without the hit in the MPG area that SUVs carry.

My family has had several Volvo's and they have been great... well.. one exception.. 96 850R went through 3 turbos before it was traded in 98... 😱

I think the 300hp S60R is the best looking Volvo ever. It is so cool! I want that car soo bad! It will probley cost alot when it goes to production.

Back in '96 I had a '96 Volvo loaner for three days while my BMW was in the shop and was very impressed. I forgot the model but it had a 5 cylinder engine, no turbo but was very quick and quiet.

My parents had a Ferrari red 1989 Volvo 760 Turbo STATION WAGON.

Boxy? Yes. Slow? No.

Took it to high school a few times. There were a lot of confused muscle-car-driving teens that year. The first couple of seconds off the line, these things are typical station wagons. That's why North Americans don't buy European style cars - they value torque above all. But a funny thing happens once you get past the intersection. With the accelerator at the sweet spot (not floored), the turbo really kicks in, and the speedometer jumps. I now realize the value of acceleration at speed - especially for changing lanes and merging. Most GMs, I find, are very touchy on the accelerator when stopped, but useless between 60 and 100km/h.

Here's the problem with Volvos, though: Sell them when you pass 100,000km. They don't break often, but preventive maintenence becomes prohibitively expensive.

Regards,
Craig

I have driven quite a few Volvos and the turbos are some real sleepers. I drove an '89 760 turbo with 275000 miles on it. It was such a nice car and hauled ass like you wouldn't believe. It was such fun going around corners when the boost kicked in.

Well DUH!

Knowing you have the most safe car on the planet, is always reassuring! Knowing that you can kick some pony as too, just makes it the all around bad ass car! Only con about new volvo's, is that they are FWD.

Love live the Volvo!
