Anxiety/Panic Attacks

Anyone here have a history with these? I had something last week and the doctor checked me out and told me he thinks it was stress-related and nothing health related. I've had some ongoing things though like numbness and tingling in my arms and aches in my chest and back. The doctor still says it's anxiety, but I wonder if I need a second opinion. I looked a bit online, but I didn't see any mention of those sorts of problems specifically with anxiety attacks.

I'm not asking for a medical diagnosis, just info on if anyone else with anxiety problems experienced similar.

If you are having physical problems because of stress, then that IS "Health related" in my opinion.

It wouldn't hurt to talk to a second doc.

Also, this (if it is in fact stress) stuff is just a symptom of a larger underlying problem(s). Until you figure out what is stressing you it will only get worse.

Sounds like anxiety to me, but a second opinion never hurts. I've had some of those symptoms in the past when I suffered from occasional anxiety problems.

Anxiety and stress can manifest itself in the form of symptoms you describe. I had a couple rough years with some tragedies involving people close to me, and it wasn't an accident that mysterious physical ailments somewhat like you describe suddnely started bothering me shortly thereafter. Talk to a second doc, but at the same time don't underestimate what stress and anxiety can do to you physically.

Thanks for the replies guys.....it helps! Now I know I don't have to worry (as much) about the problems and it's likely not physiological.

I don't know for sure because I've never experienced anything TRULY stressful but stress can really damage your health both physically and mentally and as the other people posted there may be some underlying problem that you just can't see yet.

Also, second opinions can't hurt right?
