Now, after about a week and a half fly free, it looks like round 2 is coming :(. I hate insects.

probably the maggots turning into flies :( i had an oppossum die under my house and dealt with that shit for a month.

Definitely. That's what the first wave was from. The next wave might be starting to hatch. Thankfully, it was only a rat and it wasn't too big. If I start to see a lot more, I'll just hang some more fly tape from a light and keep the light on at night. It's fucking disgusting though when they are flying around my kitchen.

It certainly doesn't help that the 2 groups of assholes moving out of my building decided to be lazy and leave trash right by the back door instead of walking the 20 feet to the alley to throw their massive piles of trash out.

just borax/sugar in powder form, or add water???

I've used a powder form and sprinkled it outside around my house and especially were you see an ant trail.

Others have made ant traps with this same formula but made it into a liquid (I never used this).

Do a search on the web.

Cheers,
Aquaman

I had an invasion of ants this spring ...
Initiall I tried using a half dozen ant traps spread throughout the house .... it was totally useless ... they kept swarming all over the place.

I then went with the recomendations of others and got:
Terro Liquid Baits, 6 indoors, 6 outdoors (near big colonies)

Amdro Ant Block .... (I used it around the entire foundation of my house)

Now I have a cat flea infestation to deal with ... Hartz and flea baths for the cats aren't cutting it ... so It'l gonna be time to get flea collars and some frontline ... meh

I used Borax cleaner mixed with sugar and took out two hives at my house. Either that or they ran to some place else.

You can get boric acid in bulk on ebay. I got some to take care of termites in an old tree stump.

I remember those quite well! My house got infested with fleas when I was about 14. We had to fog the house, twice. The first time didn't work at all. We came back and after a few seconds of being in the house my socks were covered in those little pests!! I hate fleas, a lot! Good luck getting rid of them.

Another vote for terro. Or have a pro come out and lay down a perimeter spray. We had some ants when we moved into our new house. The perimeter spray killed all bugs within a few days.

My house got invaded by ants after Gustav. My guess is that a tree shifted or something and got them riled up. I think I'm going to try the nuke thing.
