it's AOL but it's backed by the BEST (arguable) AV in town, Kaspersky. Uses the same scan engine and defintions. If you dont mind the EULA, you'll be ok.

They locked the thread in off topic:(

I am sort of interested in this too....kapersky for free? why not?

unless it has ads out the wazoo:(
Good luck getting it. Took me several days of trying to get it downloaded. Now that I've got it I'm still waiting on a code to install it. That's on 2 different accounts (Yahoo & RoadRunner). Makes me want to just look for it elsewhere...

As anyone received their key for the AOL Active Virus Shield? I signed up a few days ago and still no key to 2 different Email accounts.

Still nothing here in Email... I guess I could try signing up again (4th time)? I did download the trial of Kaspersky Internet Security directly from their site. It wouldn't install on my Vista (5536 build) virtual machine. I installed it on my WinXP Pro virtual machine and it was dog slow. The full scan took a *long* time (over an hour) but I would assume it's because it's a VM. It detected a trojan in the free WinRAR 3.51 released a while back. Odd thing is the trojan it allegedly detected turned up nothing in searches of Google and the Kaspersky site.

it ALWAYS comes down to KAV vs. NOD :)

And i am always going back to NOD for various reasons.

Btw. Antivir PE premium looks very good too.
